Seto KaibaxReader-New Assistant pt 5

"______..________. Eh, ________!"

Your head snapped up quickly at the sound of Joey calling your name. You looked over at him sleepily and rubbed your eyes.

"Hm..?"you responded.

"You fell asleep in class again, are you okay?"Yugi asked, concern lacing his voice.

"Yeah I'm fine.." You yawned and stood slowly. Joey growled.

"Nyah! You're not fine! Kaiba is working you to the bone! You're exhausted!"He blurts. Yugi nodded.

"Joey's right ______. Kaiba seems to be letting this boss thing go to his head." 

"It's okay guys, really. I'm fine."you tell them. You took a step but had to quickly lean against a desk for support.

They were right. You were exhausted but  that wasn't an excuse to miss work. At least it wasn't for Kaiba.

"____ please! You can barely walk! You can't go in!"Yugi pleaded for you to stop but you couldn't.

Somehow managing a fake smile, you moved past the two boys.

"Sorry guys, I gotta go. I'll see you later!" You waved to them before jogging out the room and out of school. 

You jogged towards Kaiba Corp, trying to fight through the feeling of collapsing. However, the feeling was overpowering you.

Your jog slowed to walking before you came to a stop completely, just feet away from the Corporation door. You didn't realize it til now, but you were panting softly.

Your body was ready to give out at any second...and it did. Everything went black as you fell to your knees and against the pavement.

Meanwhile, Mokuba was pacing around.

Come on ______. Where are you..?

 The young boy sighed and glanced at his older brother who was typing away at his computer.

"She's late."he said flatly, never taking his eyes off the monitor.  Mokuba flinched.

"A-Ah...I'm sure she's on her way! She probably just got stuck in traffic or something! Or maybe she got lost!! I-I'll go out and find her!" Kaiba now looked up at his brother, watching as he scrambled out the room.

He blinked and sat back in his chair, quickly picking up the phone and dialing your number.

He listened as it rang..and rang..and rang before heading to voicemail.

What was going on?

Even Kaiba knew that it was unlike you to not pick up when he called. 

You knew the rules. You had been working with him for about a month now and never missed a call.

He quickly stood, something was wrong. He jogged to the door but stopped at  the sound of his cellphone ringing.

He answered it quickly.

"Hello?"

"Seto!" His brother's voice cried from the other end.

"Mokuba! What is it? What's wrong?"he asked.

"It's _______! I found her unconscious outside! She's not waking up!"he cried. Kaiba gripped the phone tighter.

"Stay there! I'm coming!" 

Kaiba didn't even hang up his cell phone. In a panic, he bolted out the door and outside where he found his brother and unconscious assistant.

"Call an ambulance!"he ordered to Mokuba who nodded promptly and did as told while he tended to you.

The tall brunette dropped to his knees and picked you up gently, laying your head on his lap as he tried to wake you.

It didn't work and he was fearing the worst.

He quickly laid you back down and pressed an ear to your chest, listening for any signs of life.

It felt like an eternity before he heard the soft thump of your heart. He sighed in relief, looking at Mokuba.

"She's alive. Get her mother on the phone."

Again Mokuba nodded and did as told, watching as the paremedics arrived on the scene. 

As odd as it seemed, he went with you in the ambulance while his brother stayed behind to watch over the company.

He bit his lip and looked at his cellphone. He knew his brother would get angry at him for this...but they had to know.

Slowly dialing a number, Mokuba held the phone to his ear.

"Hello?"a familiar voice picked up.

"Uh..h-hey..It's me, Mokuba. I thought you should know..something happened to ______...She's in the hospital.."
