The car drive was silent.Nobody spoke a word except maybe the occasional groan from Vash,indicating that he was still very much alive now.There weren't many zombies nor those spider-like creatures around since you were on the outside of the city now.You watched outside your window as the city behind you burned while the dark clouds began to hover around it.

Alfred drove this time,since you were too emotionally distraught.He thought it be best if you rested some.You leaned against the door and rested your head against the window,staring blankly at the grey sky.Peter and Raivis slept soundly in the backseat,both rested upon each other while Lili still tended to Vash.

Alfred looked over at you and sighed.

"You know..you should probably get some sleep.Vash's place is still some time away.."he says.You look over at him and shake your head.

"How can anyone sleep in a world that is just one big nightmare?"you ask.Alfred chuckled a bit and pointed behind him with his thumb at Raivis and Peter.

"They can.."he says.You look back at the two and smile a bit.

"Yes but they are still kids.They simply just tired themselves out."you say.

"Then why don't you tire yourself out then?Come on ______.You need to rest.."Alfred says.You stare at Alfred then out the window.

"I can't..I may never sleep again in this horrid world..."Alfred frowned at you and lightly placed his hand on yours.

"________...please..rest.You'll become sick if you don't.."he says.You remained silent,you couldn't deny it.You were tired but what if something were to happen while you slept?You couldn't let your guard down.

"Don't worry ______...I'll wake you if something happens.."Alfred says.You take a deep breath and lean your head against the window again.As you stared out the window,your tired eyes slowly began to close and you drifted off into sleep.

You open your eyes,finding yourself staring up at the clear blue sky.You heard laughter beside you,quickly turning your head towards it,you see Alfred.He sat next to you with a huge smile and gleaming blue eyes.His skin was bright and smooth and his hair was neat.

"A-Alfred.."you say softly.Alfred turned his gaze to you.

"Hey ________!"he says.

"Hey Al.."you say.Alfred smiled and held up a box of pocky.

"Hey ______,wanna play the pocky game?"he asks.

"S-sure.."you reply.Alfred nodded and pulled out a pink pocky stick.He puts it in his mouth and leans over to you.You start to lean over to him but somebody taps your shoulder.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you,love."he says.You look over your shoulder and see Arthur standing there.He was covered in bruises and cuts not to mention the stray blood stains he had.HE looked exactly how he looked when he died.

"A-Arthur.."you say.Arthur stared at you seriously for a moment then nodded towards Alfred.You turn your head back towards him and jump at what you see.Alfred sat there staring at you with bloodshot eyes.His skin was pale and decaying,his mouth dripped blood.You jump up and take a step back.

"What just happened?!"you say.Alfred stands up and extends his arms to you.

"________..h-help me.."he murmurs.You shake your head and falls to your knees as Alfred started to approach you."_______..h-help.._____ must...kill...eat...tasty.."he says.You look back for Arthur but he was gone and there was suddenly a wall behind you.You were trapped.

"Just one taste of _________.."Alfred growls.

"Alfred stop!It's me!"you yell.

"Must eat...______Must...must..kill."Alfred stood in front of you and dropped his knees.You tried to move but suddenly you were paralyzed.You couldn't do anything as Alfred crawled up your legs and grabbed your arms,pinning them on either sides of your head.

"Al..s-stop.."Now your voice was faded.You couldn't move,speak,nor look away as Alfred leaned his face closer to the crook of your neck.You felt his tongue lightly caress the soft flesh.

"_______..Tasty!"he yells before sinking his teeth into your skin and ripping away the flesh.

"No!!"You scream and your eyes snap open.You look around,you were back in the Hummer and Alfred was still driving.You placed your hand to your throat,nothing.No bite,no wound,there was nothing.Alfred looks over at you with a worried look.

"_______,you okay?"he asks.You look back and at Raivis and Peter who still slept soundly then back at him.

"Y-Yeah...just a bad dream.."you say.Alfred nodded and cleared his throat.

"You uh...wanna talk about it?"He asks.You quickly shake your head and sit up in your seat.

"N-no.."

"Okay.."You look out your window.The sky was now dark and the radio time read 9:30pm.

"H-how much further?"you ask.Alfred shrugged,though you weren't looking at him.

"About another hour or so.."he responded.You nodded and wiped away a stray tear that had unnoticeably came to your eye.You heard Alfred take a deep breath,indicating that he was about to speak again.

"_______,listen...a-about before..Thanks.."he says.You quickly turn your head to face your American friend.

"W-what?"you mumble out.

"You know..for stopping me from pulling the trigger.You were right,I am a selfish bastard.A selfish bastard who was going to leave you all alone in this gruesome world to take care of three kids and a dying swiss."he says.You just stare at him,mouth threatening to fall open.

"But now..Now I want to live but I know my days are limited.But even with that,I'll take those days and cling to them dearly as long as it means that you'll be in them ________."he continues,his voice cracking with each word.

"Al.."you murmur out.You feel the car slow down before coming to a complete stop.Alfred puts the car in park,unbuckles himself and hops out the car.You do the same and follow him.

"Al,you okay?"you ask.Alfred shook his head and faced you.Your eyes widen at the sight of tears running down his face.You quickly jog over to him and into his arms.Alfred embraced you tightly and cried into your soft (h/c) hair.

"I love you so much _______.So much!And I wish there was more time to express it to you.I wish I had told you sooner,before all this happened because then,we could have dated and gotten married."he sobbed.

"Al,you wanted..to marry me?"you ask softly into his chest.Alfred nodded and held you tighter.

"Yeah.Would you ________?"he asks.Your eyes widen and you look up at Alfred.His tears fell lightly on your cheeks as he stared down at you.

"Yes.."you say softly as a tear rolls down your own cheek."I would."Alfred let you go,wiped his tears away and took your hands in his.Alfred kissed them gently before kneeling down on one knee in front of you.

"Then..will you marry me _______?Make me complete before I-"You placed your finger on his lips and shushed him,trying to hold back any tears that threatened to spill.

"Yes..Alfred..I will."you say.Alfred smiled up at you and stood up.

"Thank you so much _____."Alfred cups your cheeks and presses his lips against yours in what seemed like a desperate kiss.The feel of his kiss saddened you.You could feel his desperate feeling of wanting to hold onto that moment with you.Life is too cruel sometimes.Time is a cruel thing,to take away so much he had and even this moment.

Alfred broke the kiss and wrapped his arms around you tightly.

"I wish I could have this moment for lief.."he says.You smile softly at the quote.

"Me too.."you say."I wish..I could have you for life.."

"You will ______.I'll give you the rest of my life,no matter how short it is.I will.."
